Mr. Horowitz is perhaps best known for hard-hitting trial practice, impeccable preparation and tough negotiating.  His approachable and down-to-earth manner not only sets clients’ minds at ease, it also serves them well in court.  As long as the other side is reasonable, Mr. Horowitz will encourage his client to make diligent efforts to settle.  But when a more vigorous approach is in the client’s best interest, he does not hesitate to litigate aggressively.

Mr. Horowitz’s strategic advice and insights draw on years of practice, touching on every manner of Family Law dispute.  Mr. Horowitz is admitted to practice law in one jurisdiction, the Commonwealth of Virginia.  


Virginia Family Law is very complex, taking up approximately 30% – 50% of Northern Virginia courts’ dockets.  Mr. Horowitz keeps abreast of the newest developments so he can devise the best strategies for resolving his client’s cases.  He has even co-authored   

the “Custody Agreements and Parenting Arrangements” chapter of Virginia Law Foundation's respected treatise: Negotiating and Drafting Marital Agreements.  Mr. Horowitz has also served on the Fairfax Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee, and he has served as a Guardian ad Litem for children and as a court-appointed attorney at civil commitment hearings.


Mr. Horowitz has tried Family Law cases in Circuit Courts and Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts all over Northern Virginia.  He appears in court frequently in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Alexandria.  Mr. Horowitz has also litigated cases in courts as far away Stafford, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg and Louisa Counties.

 David Horowitz grew up in Falls Church, Virginia and graduated from McLean High School.  He received a Bachelor’s degree in English from James Madison University, and a Master's degree in Technical Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  He earned his law degree at George Mason University School of Law.
