To be eligible to file for divorce in Virginia, at least one of the parties must have lived in Virginia for the past 6 months and must consider Virginia to be their non-temporary state of residence. Aside from that, it doesn't matter where the parties were married, so long as the marriage is valid.
That said, if the non-resident spouse does not have significant attachments to Virginia, there may be limits on the Court's ability to divide property and/or determine support.
